Land Surveyors United 300 Members Strong
Around here, we are all familiar with Land Surveyors United- the social network exclusively for land surveying professionals. But today, we have reached a landmark (or a benchmark rather). We've officially reached 300 members and that's HUUUGE when talking about a social network comprised mostly of members who have limited access to internet resources during the day. Of course all of this is changing very rapidly and because LSU can be accessed from any mobile device, I foresee it becoming even more useful in the coming months.

"Cool New Things:" Water Powered Calculator and Gloves for Surveyors
Monday, March 2, 2009
Today, I have two incredibly useful tools for land surveyors. The first is a water powered calculator[via SamratHacks]. This device is useful for people who need calculators as part of their work. It saves the hassle of constantly trying to power up calculator by buying batteries. If the idea of using water for power comes a long way, it can be used to power up larger devices.

Next, we have gloves that are specially made for cold weather computing [via Labnol]. Etry Touchy - it’s an hand-glove that only exposes the tip of your thumbs and index finger so you can do all the regular actions on the touch display like type, slide or tap while keeping all the other fingers of your hand warm and dry.
If you like tps like this, how about subscribe to our RSS feed.
